Important MSAD 15 transportation update

November 12, 2021

Hello GNG parents,

Hopefully, this does not come as a complete surprise, given the frequent news stories about the lack of bus drivers throughout the state and country:

We have reached a crisis situation where we simply do not have enough bus drivers to get every kid currently riding the bus to school on time. We have done all of the things you can think of to find more drivers, but the certified people do not appear to exist – many districts are in our position.

Can you help? Click here to let us know you can get your kids to school on your own.

If we were to get enough students off of our bus routes, we have a chance to keep those kids with no other option on the buses and getting to school. If this is something your family can take on, you would be doing many families a great service.

Click here to let us know that you can drive your kids to school until further notice.

In the meantime, we are able to continue service as-is through the Thanksgiving break. Before we leave for Thanksgiving, we will provide an update as to the best solution we have been able to put together. If we do not get enough volunteers, we will have to reduce service, look at virtual options, and otherwise get creative in ways that will be unpleasant for at least a portion of our community families.

Hopefully, we have enough parents who can step up, reduce the load enough to rework the routes to accommodate our students, and we can buy some more time to try to acquire more bus drivers.

In the meantime, if you are interested in driving a bus for us, or know someone who is, let us know by emailing dboucher@sad15. We will pay for the training, the certification, and guarantee you a job upon completion.

Thank you for your patience and understanding,
— Craig and Sam
