As many of you know, the Historical Society launched a new fundraiser this year. A dedicated team of members spent many hours designing a 2023 wall calendar which is for sale for $10. Each month features pictures and history of places and events in New Gloucester.
Because of donations from individuals and businesses and sponsors for each month, all the proceeds from the sale of the calendars will benefit the Society. Along with the profits from our Strawberry Festival and Apple Pie Sale, these monies will help pay our expenses, such as upkeep of the History Barn building and the Blockhouse site, maintenance and eventual expansion of our archives, insurance and other more mundane but essential annual bills. In addition, these monies support our monthly programs which are open free to the public, and educational programs like the annual History Field Trip for the three second grade classes from the Memorial School and exhibits in the History Barn.
The calendars are still available for sale as follows:
• Saturday December 3rd, at the History Barn (behind Town Hall) from 9 a.m. to noon
• at the New Gloucester Town Office
