Halloween in the Lower Village

Halloween was magical again this year, with road closures turning the Lower Village into New Gloucester’s best block party—open to trick-or-treaters but not cars.

In strollers and wagons, on foot, in parents’ arms, alongside costumed dogs—and even one goat—trick-or-treaters found fabulous and frightening displays, with jack-o’-lanterns, inflatables, music, lights, costumed hosts, and of course plenty of treats. Moonlit clouds and gusty winds added to the festive mood. Village residents reported counting over 400 trick-or-treaters.

Thanks to all who made Halloween safe and special, especially town staff and the generous, creative neighbors of the Lower Village.
