Coming up at the Select Board’s March 6 meeting are discussion of a proposed Memorandum of Understanding with Gray for the two towns’ ongoing partnership on recreational programming and a conversation with members of the Economic Development Committee about a possible forum on home repair programs and grants.
The meeting begins at 7 pm in the Meetinghouse and will be broadcast on local cable and live-streamed on Castus at this link.
Also on the board’s March 6 agenda:
— an update about Cumberland County taxes, including a special assessment as the County changes its budgeting from calendar year to fiscal year;
— a request from the Land Management Planning Committee that the town support a pending bill that would exempt towns under 10,000—like New Gloucester—from provisions of LD 2003, legislation aimed at increasing housing statewide by mandating denser development and easier accessory dwelling units, among other things;
— planning and perhaps establishing a committee for the Town’s upcoming 250th;
— possible reduced hours at the Town Office in light of the resignation of Deputy Clerk Kim Getchell; and
— the annual Posting of the Roads against heavy loads.
