Re: High School Remote through 5-13-22

Due to a high number of COVID related staff absences, Gray-New Gloucester High School will be remote starting Thursday, May 12, 2022. The following information applies to this transition to remote instruction at the High School:

  • Students should still attend PATHS in-person, transportation will be provided. If your PATHS student needs transportation please contact the High School office as soon as possible to have that set up.
  • Students receiving the majority of their instruction in specialized programs will also be remote.
  • Athletics and co-curricular activities will be held in-person as scheduled including the spring concert, art show, and the Model UN Conference.
  • High school teachers will spend their staff time today preparing for remote instruction and communicating with students about expectations for Thursday and Friday.
  • The High School building will remain open during this remote learning period, instructional staff may work from their classrooms/spaces if they choose.
  • School meals will be available for pick up or potentially to be sent home with students today. If you are interested your student accessing meals, please contact Wendy Ordway atwordway@sad15.org to make arrangements.

At this time, we anticipate Gray-New Gloucester High School and the district’s Pre-Kindergarten program, which was closed earlier this week, will return to in-person instruction on Monday, May 15, 2022. We will re-assess as the week goes on and communicate with families if additional closures are needed.

We continue to highly encourage all MSAD 15 staff and students to wear masks and observe other measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 including staying home when you are sick, washing hands regularly, limiting contact with those that may be ill, and observing physical distancing when possible.
