Re: Additional Cases and Extension of Remote Days at High School

This memo is to inform you that MSAD 15 will extend remote learning at Gray-New Gloucester High School through Friday, January 22, 2021. We are extending remote learning at the High School only due to additional COVID-19 cases that require close contact quarantining of students and a critical mass of staff. This remote learning extension only impacts the high school. All other schools will return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. The High School will return to in-person instruction on January 25, 2021.

Additional Positive Cases Requiring Close Contact Tracing:
An individual connected to the blue cohort at Gray-New Gloucester High School has tested positive for COVID-19. School officials have been in contact with Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention representative at the Maine Department of Education who determined there were potential exposures requiring quarantine on January 12, 2021. Approximately 30 students and four staff members will be impacted by this quarantine. School nurses and administrators are contacting those students and staff with further details. Those calls will be complete by 1:00 pm today. If you do not receive a phone call or phone message by 1:00 pm today, then you/your student are not impacted by this exposure.

An individual connected to the red and blue cohorts at Gray-New Gloucester High School has tested positive for COVID-19. School officials have been in contact with Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention representative at the Maine Department of Education who determined there were potential exposures requiring quarantine on January 8 & 11, 2021. Nine staff members are impacted by this quarantine. All quarantine notifications for this exposure have already been made. If you have not received a phone call already, then you are not impacted by this exposure.
