Re: High School Remote 1/13-1/21

As many of you are aware, we are seeing a surge in COVID-19 cases in MSAD 15. As of the writing of this letter:
— There have been 88 confirmed positive cases so far this week.
— There have been high numbers of staff and students absent due to COVID-19 cases.
— The majority of cases in the last two weeks have been at the high school.

In order to address this surge in cases at the high school and the staffing shortages district-wide, we will implement the following:

1. Thursday, January 13, 2022 – will be an asynchronous remote day for the high school. Students should check in with teachers to complete the work due for the end of the semester. PATHS students may transport themselves to PATHS or attend remotely. Memorial, Russel, Dunn, and the Middle School will be in-person.

2. Friday, January 14, 2022 – will be a teacher workshop day as planned.

3. January 18 – 21, 2022:

  • GNG High school will be synchronous remote. Students and staff should follow their regular class schedule remotely.
  • Athletics and co-curricular will be in-person as scheduled, but reduced spectator measures will be in place. More information to follow.
  • PATHS transportation will be provided, more information to follow.
  • Remote meals can be picked up at the high school each day from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm.
  • Memorial, Russell, Dunn, and the Middle School will be in-person.

We recognize remote instruction is not ideal. Please help us to maintain 5-day a week in-person instruction by staying home when you are sick and utilizing measures to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
