The GNG Patriots defeated the Kennebunk Rams 69-32 in a Class A South quarterfinal match-up on Monday at the Portland Expo. GNG led by 17 at the half, then put the hammer down with a 26-2 fourth quarter to earn the emphatic win.

GNG senior forward Izzy Morelli notched her 1000th career point in the third quarter. The Press Herald game recap quotes Morelli about the milestone: “‘To be honest, I tried to keep it off my mind. The most important thing today was getting a win,’ Morelli said. ‘I had it in the back of my mind, but I really just tried to think team-first this game. If I get there, then that’s great.’”

Morelli led all scorers with 21 points, followed by GNG’s Ella Kenney with 16. Riley Ewing led the Rams’ offense with 14.
