Forum on Arts and the Creative Economy — June 11, 2018

Forum on Arts and the Creative Economy
Hosted by the New Gloucester Economic Development Committee
Monday June 11, 6:30 at the MEETING HOUSE
How does a Creative Economy benefit a town and its economic vitality? How can our town, and others, support this path to economic development? The creative economy is a powerful engine of growth and community vitality. Together, artists, cultural nonprofits, and creative businesses produce goods and services that generate jobs, revenue, and quality of life.  The Economic Development Committee is hosting a panel of Maine based experts to speak about how towns can work with local cultural and artistic businesses and non-profits to grow their economies. Speakers include: Julie Richard, Executive Director, Maine Arts Commission: Jen Hutchins, Executive Director, Maine Association of Nonprofits and Tammy Ackerman, Executive Director of Engine: Propelling the Creative Economy, Biddeford.
