At their May 19 meeting, the Select Board will review draft bid documents for several items approved by voters at the recent annual town meeting. They will also lay groundwork for the June 10 municipal election by reviewing warrants and appointing election officials.
But the item of greatest community interest may be the expected introductions of new Fire Rescue Chief Ryan Patton and new Code Enforcement Officer Eric Cobb. In a memo to the board, Town Manager Bill Kerbin says Patton and Cobb will attend the May 19 meeting to introduce themselves. Confirmation of their appointment is on the board’s agenda.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Meetinghouse and will be live-streamed at this link.
Fairgrounds bathroom project bid opening. Bids to construct the bathroom and storage facility at the Fairgrounds were to have been due on May 19 and opened at the board meeting. Due to an issue with the public notice, the board will consider extending the time for bids to be submitted. Read the project RFP at pp. 8-15 of the meeting agenda packet.
RFPs ready for board review. Voters at May town meeting approved a slew of purchases; bid documents for several are ready for board consideration:
- A UTV for Fire Rescue with a forestry/rescue unit (pp. 26-29)
- A lawn tractor for the Cemetery Association (pp.16-20)
- A lawn tractor/mower for the Buildings and Grounds Department (pp. 21-25)
- Refurb work for Fire Rescue’s Tank 2 (pp. 30-34)
The board will also consider a draft RFP for legal services (pp. 44-52). The town currently contracts with Preti Flaherty; previously Bernstein Shur served as the town’s counsel.
Fairgrounds bathrooms. An RFP to build the long-proposed bathrooms and storage building at the Fairgrounds is in the meeting agenda packet (pp. 42-47).
June 10 election preparations. The board will review draft warrants and appoint local election officials and ballot clerks for the upcoming June 10 municipal election. Select Board and School Board candidates are on the ballot, along with a vote on the MSAD 15 school budget.
