Summer Reading Program Comic Book Author/Illustrator Visit: Ryan L. Higgins

“How to Draw Comic Book Characters”:
1 Hour, all-ages but typically grades 3-5
Ryan L. Higgins, the creator of Lazer Brain Comics, will show you step-by-step how to build characters from basic shapes. You’ll begin with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their creation in Dover, NH. Then, meet Ryan’s own superhero, the Righteous Red Cat, and discover how to bring her to life on paper.
Want to draw your own favorites? During the last 15-20 minutes, the floor is open for your questions and requests. We’ll have a free-draw session where Ryan can help you draw your favorite comic book heroes!
Everything you need is provided – pencils, paper, drawing guides, even a fun activity sheet featuring the characters of Lazer Brain Comics! Just bring your imagination and love for comics. Unleash your inner superhero and let’s draw the adventures that await!
