Perseid Meteor Shower

     Meet at the Shaker Community – South Field

The Perseids is one of the most anticipated meteor showers of the year.  It is expected to peak on August 12th.  The moon will be 50% illuminated at the time of the Perseids’ peak, it will however set around midnight, so there will be dark skies until dawn. According to NASA, you can expect to see up to 100 meteors per hour during the Perseid’s peak, Participants should bring bug spray, a lawn chair, flashlight, something to eat or drink and perhaps a blanket or light jacket.
