Girl Scouts of Maine: Herb Gardening with Shaker Village

Join this partnership between Shaker Village and Girl Scouts of Maine for some hands-on learning at the historic Shaker Herb Garden. Learn about planting, growing, harvesting, processing, and mixing your own herbal tea blends just like the Shakers have been doing in Maine since 1783! Tour the herb gardens, learn about medicinal and culinary uses of herbs, and then plant perennials and annuals. Put your new herbal skills to use by blending your own custom tea to take home. We’ll even get a chance to visit with the farm animals at the end of the event! Please wear clothes and shoes that can get garden-dirty.
Rain or Shine
Girl Scouts must have a family adult or troop leader to supervise them during the event. Troop Leaders: if you are registering your troop, please follow troop ratios. Girl Scouts from all councils are welcome!
