Block Printing Workshop
June 8 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Saturday, June 8, 2024
11am-2pm
In-person/On site
Block printing is a unique and versatile medium that has been used for centuries as a means of printmaking and textile design. Join Nina and Patrick of Wild Rosie for a workshop at Shaker Village to create an original block print of your own!
You will learn how to transfer your vision onto a carving medium, carve the block and then use it to print a repetitive & decorative design onto a set of two linen & cotton blend napkins to enjoy for years to come!
Class is best suited to those ages 12+, as sharp carving tools will be used in the process. No previous experience required.
Please bring a 4 x 6″ photo or an original drawing of your own of what you are hoping to carve (*please don’t plan on copying artwork made by others*), plus a little patience and a lot of creativity! Bold, simple and beautiful shapes work best to start.
All other supplies will be provided.
