Each year on Sabbathday Lake, the residents eagerly await signs of breeding activity at our eagles’ nest. During the winter, the eagle parents busily feather their nest, gathering sticks and other materials to increase the size and stability.

Local residents Diantha and Don Grant have named our eagle parents Lizzie and Will. In April of this year, Diantha noticed activity in the nest by Lizzie, indicating we would soon have eaglets. On May 13, I was able to capture the first evidence that we had two eaglets. Unfortunately, just recently we noticed only one very vocal eaglet has survived, but it looks quite healthy. Any day now, this youngster will fledge the nest!
