Committee appointments, Public Works Director job description, draft RFPs on June 2 Select Board agenda

The Select Board will make appointments to town committees and boards at their June 2 meeting, discuss updating fee schedules, and review a draft job description for Director of Public Works. Current Public Works Director Ted Shane recently submitted his resignation.

The board will also continue reviewing draft RFPs to move forward items funded at the annual Town Meeting in May. A pick-up for Public Works, sand and gravel for the coming year and paving and chip seal work are on the list.

Roads slated for attention in FY26 are Snow Hill Road from Outlet Road to Sabbathday Road, Penny Road from the tracks to Route 231, Bald Hill Road from Route 122 to the Poland line, Cobble Hill Road (off Chandler Mill Road) and at the Transfer Station.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Meetinghouse and will be live-streamed at this link.

Applications for committees and boards. June brings the end of some committee members’ terms, and thus appointments and re-appointments by the Select Board. Read residents’ applications at pp. 8-45 of the meeting agenda packet.

Position description for Director of Public Works. Ted Shane’s recent resignation as Director of Public Works means a search will be getting under way. Read the current position description at pp. 79-82.

RFPs ready for board review:

The board will also continue discussion of topics from last meeting, including how to consider liquor license applications under a new state online system, fees for catering and liquor licenses, and the contract for legal services, currently provided by Preti Flaherty.
