Charter Commission agenda Monday September 13

The Charter Commission continues its work Monday evening September 13 at 7 pm at the Meetinghouse. The meeting will be broadcast on local cable and live-streamed at this link: https://townhallstreams.com/towns/newgloucesterme

On the September 13 agenda: discussion of a proposed schedule for drafting and discussion of specific charter provisions. The calendar proceeds topic-by-topic—e.g., legislative body, town manager, budget, boards and committees—with a full first draft charter anticipated by February 2022 and public input along the way. The commission meets bi-weekly.

Also on the agenda: further discussion of a public survey, selection of a municipal law firm to assist the commission, and continuing discussion of the legislative body for town governance: i.e., town meeting, a council, select board, or some combination of bodies.
