ARPA spending, Covid policy on Select Board Dec. 20 agenda

The select board will circle back to some deferred items as well as take up new matters at their Monday December 20 meeting. The meeting begins at 7 pm and will be broadcast on NGTV and live-streamed at this link

Among action items returning to the board:
• Possible use of $30,000 in town American Rescue Plan Act funds (ARPA) to purchase a cardio monitor/defibrillator for Fire Rescue (pp. 36-44 in the agenda packet)
• Possible use of ARPA funds for $60,000+ in mold remediation work at the library (p. 45)
• Consideration of an updated Memorandum of Understanding between the Library Trustees and Friends of the Library (pp. 51-60).

The board will also hear follow-up presentations by residents requesting two ad hoc committees be created to further goals of the Comprehensive Plan: a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and an Age-friendly/Livable Community Committee:
• Detailed proposals, including lists of residents joining in support, are in the agenda packet (DEI pp. 3-16; Age-friendly/Livable Community pp.17-29).

New action items on the agenda include:
• Consideration of a FY23 five-year Capital Improvements Program Plan (pp. 63-64)
• Discussion of whether to establish a Covid-19 policy for the town (pp. 65-66)
• Discussion of whether to host a Covid vaccination, booster, and flu shot clinic at the fire station in conjunction with Maine CDC and the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce (p. 67).
