GNG Community Service Club Carves Pumpkins to Benefit Camp Sunshine

Every fall, the Gray-New Gloucester High School Community Service Club, with the amazing help of the majority of the student body, carves over 1000 pumpkins. These pumpkins are showcased in Freeport at LL Bean and are individually sponsored, with the proceeds benefiting Camp Sunshine, a retreat for families of a child with a life threatening illness. This impressive undertaking is generally accomplished in less than five hours, including the delivery! Many thanks to the Community Service Club Project Leaders for organizing this event, to the teaching staff who participate, to the custodial staff, to the groundskeeper, the kitchen staff, to Hannaford for providing snacks, and to all of our students who worked diligently to carve and deliver these pumpkins in record time!
