2024 New Gloucester Semiquincentennial Committee Photo Contest

We’re excited to host our photo contest for local amateur and professional photographers!

Entries will be accepted until May 15, 2024, by 5:00 pm. Photographers may submit two (2) entries to be considered for the New Gloucester Semiquincentennial Committee Photo Contest.

Photos should depict some aspect of community life in New Gloucester.  For example, send us a photo of what volunteering in New Gloucester means to you; a photo of your hometown hero, and/or a photo of your favorite hometown event; local landmarks, areas of scenic beauty or seasonal pastimes.  Winning photos will demonstrate a strong focus on community, people, places, and things that highlight New Gloucester’s unique character and beauty of the town.

Categories:

• Children (ages 12 and younger)                                                                        
• Teens (13-18)
• Adults (19 and older)
• Professional

*Ages refer to photographer, not subject.

Prizes are awarded for each category, along with People’s Choice award and grand prize for Best of Show.

Contest Rules

1. The contest is open to amateur and professional photographers.
2. An entry fee of $5.00 per photo for all entries who are at the Teen Level (13 or older) or above.  Fee must be paid at the New Gloucester Town Hall.
3. Photos may be no larger than 8” x 10”; Photos may be black and white or color.
4. Photos must be matted; they may be framed if photographer desires.
5. No more than two (2) photos per entrant.
6. Entrant must be a resident of New Gloucester.
7. Photos must depict New Gloucester.
8. Photos must be original and suitable for display as determined by the Committee.
9. Entry for must be submitted for each entrant.  Entry forms must be signed by the entrant (or parent or guardian if entrant is a minor).
10. All entries must be submitted by May 15, 2024, at 5:00 pm.
11. Entries may be dropped off at the New Gloucester Library or New Gloucester Town Hall during regular business hours (after fee has been paid see rule 2 above).

All entries wishing to be considered by the New Gloucester Historical Society for publication in the 2025 calendar must be provide a digital copy of the photo. 

Winners will be announced and honored at a special event at 2 pm on Sunday May 19, 2024, at the Municipal Complex.
