One man is dead following an early morning car crash in New Gloucester.
Officials say that 20-year-old Brandon Robinson of Damariscotta was driving west on Dougherty Road when he lost control, crossed the centerline and hit a fence and a tree on the opposite side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger, 20-year-old Cody Huff, of Portland, was pulled from the car and transported to Maine Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash is now under investigation. Officials with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office say that speed and alcohol appear to be factors.
