On Monday, November 9, the Town’s Parks and Recreation Committee will hold a workshop on a preliminary draft of an “Action Plan” for the Fairgrounds. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at the Meetinghouse at 389 Intervale Road.
The plan proposes both immediate and short-term improvements aimed at enhancing the property’s use as a multi-use recreational facility. The committee has been meeting over the past year to develop the plan, and investigate options for funding improvements. The Town is in the process of applying for a Land and Water Conservation Grant from the state, which the committee hopes will facilitate the plan’s implementation. At the workshop, the committee will explain the main components of the plan and seek public feedback. Copies of the preliminary draft and an executive summary are available on the Planning Department page of the Town’s website http://www.newgloucester.com.
