New Gloucester’s State Representative Ellie Espling (New Gloucester-Poland) will hold community office hours with Representative Jessica Fay (Poland-Casco-Raymond) on Monday March 6 from 5 to 7 pm at Poland’s Ricker Library. Stop by to hear what’s happening in Augusta and share your thoughts.
Bills sponsored by Rep. Espling with public hearings coming right up include LD 180, which would establish a single unified board overseeing the UMaine System, the Community College System, and Maine Maritime (Wed. March 8 at 9 am) and LD 568, which would require that candidates be listed as “unenrolled” rather than “independent” if they’re not affiliated with an established political party (Wed. March 8 at 9:30 am). The following week, hearings are set on a bill Espling has co-sponsored to expand complimentary hunting and fishing licenses for disabled veterans (LD 275 Thurs. March 16 at 1 pm) and a bill to prohibit creation of state or local firearms owner registries, LD 9 (Fri. March 17 at 9 am).
What do Rep. Espling and Rep. Fay think about issues of particular concern to you? Find out at their office hours at Poland’s Ricker Library Monday March 6 from 5 to 7 pm.
