General Incident Description: On 12/5/20, a winter storm caused a considerable amount of power outages within the Town of New Gloucester along with a large amount of the state. At one point, approximately 2600 of 2900 CMP customers in town were without power. The majority of damage included trees that brought down wires. There were also reports of vehicles off the road, trees blocking the roadway, and cable lines down.

The busiest portion of the storm was from 2:30pm to 6:30pm, during which we handled 15 calls for service in a 4 hour period in difficult conditions. Though 25 calls were logged through the Cumberland County Regional Communications Center, New Gloucester firefighters helped many motorists who were stuck and cleared the roadways of many downed branches.

Special thanks to the professionalism of CCRCC handling multiple calls for many agencies.
