New Gloucester selectman’s ‘racist’ comment edited out of meeting video

After a resident reached out to town officials regarding a comment from selectmen George Colby after he recited the Pledge of Allegiance at a meeting this month, the offending sound bit was cut from the publicly available recording.

NEW GLOUCESTER — A selectman’s comments at a Dec. 3 meeting that some residents deem racist were scratched from the publicly available record at the behest of the town clerk, the local cable access station confirmed this week.
