Our unconventional school year has gotten off to a great start. I continue to be impressed with how students, families, teachers, and support staff have been able to adapt and adjust to all the changes and challenges brought about by the pandemic. Our professional and support staff have devised many creative ways to make pandemic-related restrictions manageable for themselves and our students. The evidence is clear to any outside observer that the citizens of MSAD 15 are able to solve problems and move forward during difficult times.
Please allow me to offer a few reminders:
Daily Health Checks Are Vital. Please remember parents must conduct daily health assessments of each child before boarding the school bus or entering a school building. By sending your child to school, you are indicating that you are conducting the health assessment that determines it is safe to send your child to school. A copy of the health assessment can be found at: https://msad15.org/covid-19-pre-screening-tool-for-school-attendance/
Face Masks. These are required on all our buses and in all our buildings. The students have been really great in following this “non-negotiable” rule and we appreciate their maturity.
Face Shields. These are an acceptable alternative to masks if approved by an official 504 Plan or an IEP.
Neck Gators and Exhalation Valve Masks. These are no longer permitted.
School Meals. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced we will be able to offer all students free meals through December 30, 2020. We encourage all students to participate.
Once again, thank you to all students, families, and employees for getting the school year off to a great start.
