Selectmen were told at their August 7th meeting that membership dues for the Greater Portland Council of Governments will double in the next two years to more than $10,000. Executive Director Kristina Egan said the 26 member towns will face higher fees as part of a strategic plan to strengthen and enhance services and because the organization’s procurement program has been operating in the red for many years.
