‘Deeply disturbed and saddened’ by altering of meeting video

| To the editor from Sally Greene |

I am ashamed to live in a town where Selectman George Colby’s “even us white folks” addendum to the Pledge of Allegiance is tolerated, even as a clumsy wisecrack, by those we have chosen to govern our town.

But I am even more deeply disturbed and saddened by the Orwellian mentality of those who authorized and carried out excising his remark from the town’s video record of the December 3 Board of Selectmen’s meeting. People in public office have a duty to model honorable behavior. Shame on all of you for daring to mess with the truth.
