WINDHAM – S. Craig Walker passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 7, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Sept. 17, 1941 to Dr. Arnold and Grace Walker. He graduated from Union High School in 1959 and then earned his business degree at UMO in Orono. Craig was a co-owner of the Oliver Stores in New Gloucester for many years before he owned and operated C&D Carrier Services with his wife Dawn.

NEW GLOUCESTER – Rodger Elton Tripp Sr., died November 10, 2019.

Born December 22, 1935, in New Gloucester, to Lawrence and Edna Strout Tripp. Rodger grew up on Bald Hill and attended schools in New GLoucester.

Rodger married Marilyn Fickett on June 12, 1958, and they had five children. Rodger worked as a logger for Phil Mitchel and Ernie Jordan, retreading tires at Firestone Tire in Auburn, Etonic shoe in Auburn, and Frank C. Meyer’s Shoe Box Company in Lewiston.

NEW GLOUCESTER – At age 95, having resided in New Gloucester, Maine and Millis, Mass., John Santos, Sr. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 at Central Maine Medical Center following a cancer diagnosis.

John was born in Needham, Mass. on July 3, 1924. He was the oldest of five children born to John and Mary (Picone) Santos.

John is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mae (Queen) Santos of New Gloucester, formally of Millis, Mass.

Betty was born on Dec. 16, 1934, to Gerald Leroy and Beatrice Ella Keating of Nova Scotia Canada. Betty immigrated from Canada to the United States in 1954 when she became the bride of Jerry C. McCoubrey. She was a lifelong resident of New Gloucester.

NEW GLOUCESTER – Sharon Elizabeth Dunphy Gosselin, 68, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 15, 2019. She succumbed to a heart attack after fighting a long courageous battle with kidney disease. She spent her final days attending her nephew Mike’s wedding that she had been looking forward to, taking family photos, and enjoying her final day with her daughter, Melissa and grandson, Nick, by going out to eat her favorite breakfast, sausage gravy and biscuits and spending the afternoon together.

Dennis Camire, 72

BIDDEFORD – Dennis Camire, 72, passed away at his home in Biddeford on Sept. 22, 2019.

He was born in Sanford on Jan. 3, 1947, the son of Raymond A. and Bertha (Legere) Camire. He attended local schools and then moved to the New Gloucester area.

Dennis eventually moved back to York County and settled in Biddeford in the late 1990s where he was very active in his community. Keep reading
