Mark Leighton, 62

Mark Leighton, 62, of New Gloucester, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 2, 2019. Mark was born in Portland and was the eldest son of Robert Sr. and Beverly (Joy) Leighton. He grew up in New Gloucester where he attended local schools and graduated from Gray/New Gloucester High School. He spent many hours as a child helping the family maintaining and picking eggs at their barns and had various jobs locally and in Portland for metal fabrication. Keep reading in the Sun Journal.

Rick Penniman passed suddenly on March 12, 2019, at his home. He was born in Cornwall, Vt., and grew up in St. Johnsbury, Vt., where he graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy. He spent the last 32 years of his life at his home in New Gloucester. Rick leaves behind his wife, Deborah Weaver Penniman; his sons, Richard E. Penniman and his love, Sherry; Scott W. Charlie Herrick, 66, formerly of New Gloucester

Charles “Charlie” F. Herrick passed away on Jan. 2 and life will never be quite the same.

A partner at Schooner Landing in downtown Damariscotta, husband to his adored and adoring bride Katrina, and father to three girls who gave him a run for his money, Charlie was the life of the party.
